- “Nearly 20 years ago Mark Noll published The Scandal of the Evangelical Mind, a clarion call for evangelical Christians to re-examine their attitude towards the life of the mind. “
- “It is hard, I would imagine, to write the obituary for a messiah.“
- “Komander is a multimedia narco icon, working across the music, film and fashion industries that make up this āmovement,ā which produces commodified, glammed-up spins on the Mexican narcocorrido ā drug ballads that go back a century but produced its first pop stars in the early 1980s.“
- ” Itās interesting to me looking back: at one end of the pendulum of my faith journey I tried to avoid things, and at the other end of the swing I tried to do things. Both attempts at living the Christian life miss the point of discipleship ā completely!“
- “I have been following Piperās increasingly dismal preoccupation with disasters. I totally disagree with his penchant for telling us his specificĀ (prophet) insight into Godās purposes with each weather event or bridge collapse.“
- “Bill Nye’s viral YouTube video pleading with parents not to teach their children to deny evolution has spawned an online life of its own, with prominent creationists hitting back against the popular TV host.“

- “From thisĀ perspective, the Bible is not a series of verses that tell you what to do or think, but a grand story that shows you what the life of faith looks like.“
- “When Jayson Williams walked into his cell at Mid-State Correctional Facility, the first thing he saw was a Bible. “

Just trying to see if a post can go through. There haven’t been any new posts showing for over 13 hours and the thread about Michael’s health has disappeared, so something seems to be up.
#1 – this article is very interesting to me … treasures in earthen vessels? doesn’t that seem to favor the mind? we’re born with so much unused space in our brain matter, doesn’t it seem that God intends it to be used to store up Truth and discernment?
Luke 2:40 says, “And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.”
that verse says to me that our Lord developed in both mind and body
haven’t time to give it a thoughtful read right now, so i’m bookmarking it – thank you BrianD
Im laying real low today and tomorrow until we get my meds and treatments balanced and working.
Thank you all for the prayers…we’ll be back and obnoxious soon. :-0
If this Piper individual really said:
“Be done with sentimental views of the love of God. “Behold, I am watching over them for disaster, not for good.” Jer. 44:27″
Well, that’s not really good news, is it? It’s not the Gospel. It’s not Christian.
“The Lord could no longer bear your evil deeds and the abominations that you committed”
to me the Jeremiah passage is addressing what God sees and therefore, what He will do because of what He sees … His love never compromises His character – the miracle is a thing called grace; it doesn’t bend His love or compromise His holiness … i do believe that God’s love is an absolute as is His incredible holiness; He never compromises His own character out of sentiment of any kind – … what we/i don’t understand is His “longsuffering” … among other things š
going to take a cup of coffee and go outside and meditate on it
ahem, i hope everyone is resting comfortably (especially Michael) – i hope, too, that i’m not the cause of this thread’s demise today
Nah. People have been quiet since reboot. Dunno why.
Because everyone is walking on egg shells because of the last blowup. No one wants to speak up and say that infant baptism is essential to salvation! š
I’m just working a whole lot!
