Psalms 68:19 Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burden,
The God who is our salvation. Selah
Have a glorious day friends….
He bears our burdens…amen! i won’t understand that, even though i know that it is true, until Eternity
God keep those who are experiencing severe winter weather right now and keep those who are under so many other burdens, bring the unbelieving to recognize Truth, to trust, to Faith in You, Lord
Saw this on the sidebar of Facebook. Pretty explosive article about a past sexual assault committed by Peyton Manning and the following coverup and trashing of his alleged victim.
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/king-peyton-manning-squeaky-clean-image-built-lies-article-1.2530395?utm_content=buffer18848&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=buffer
It turns out the author of the article I linked to above appears to have a very shady personal history. If interested simply google the name Shaun King of the New York Daily News. If I have jumped the gun and the story is not true please accept my apologies.
Erunner, it may be good to have a heads up that this article is out there as we’re bound to hear it from somewhere
Thanks Em. I’m sorry in that due to my first post some pretty mean things were said about Peyton. When it turns out there’s more to the story I’ll now weight and allow the truth to play itself out.
mourning the death of Antonin Scalia – a man our nation can be proud of
Anything help any of you from the pain of people who left you cared for?
Peyton Manning the All American Wonder ,possibly exposed as a racist mysognyst, but hey he won two superbowls so im sure the people in tv wonderland will never believe the woman. Americans and their idols!
BTW – all the PhxPeeps are SWEETHEARTS – it’s a good day to read The Weekend Word and be reminded of words … and promises … that really count
Hello all. I just finished reading this piece in the NYT about prosperity gospel:
http://www.nytimes.com/2016/02/14/opinion/sunday/death-the-prosperity-gospel-and-me.html?action=click&contentCollection=Politics&module=MostPopularFB&version=Full®ion=Marginalia&src=me&pgtype=article
Maybe Michael will consider this for LinkaThon!
Regards
Donna, that was a very good article, thank you for the link.
Thank you, Xenia. I thought so, too.
read Donna’s link with interest…
the prosperity gospel always makes me think of what President Reagan is quoted so often as saying, “The rising tide lifts all boats” – and that makes me wonder what happens when the tide ebbs? “The ebbing tide beaches all boats?”
the prosperity gospel had its basis in prosperous times, not Scripture – as things tighten and our leadership corrupts, these preachers of same are beginning to look foolish, are they not? i pray we don’t throw God out on the outgoing tide…
http://english.stackexchange.com/questions/230520/origin-of-a-rising-tide-lifts-all-boats I enjoy studying origins of idioms and of commonly used metaphors. My stories about why we use some phrases use to amuse my grandkids- not so much now that they are in their teens 😉 Thought you might enjoy this too, Em.
Anne, we used to have a small cruising sailboat – in the middle of the first night right after launching and leaving it tied up to the dock, i woke up and thot, “oh no – the tide will come in and our boat will sink; it’s tied to the dock!” i became a little wiser, a little saltier if you will, over time… is it okay to say that my Faith has become a little saltier over the years, also? i love the seafaring applications to our lives in Christ…
“One ship sails east, another west by the very same wind that blows
It’s the set of the sail and not the gale that determines the way the ship goes”
“I’ve anchored my soul in the haven of rest, I’ll sail the wild seas no more…”
today’s posts on total depravity made me leave the dock and head for open water where life is simpler and makes more sense… 🙂
