My greatest concern about the still new administration is its contempt for the administration of justice and the rule of law.

Among the most dangerous of all the dangerous moves by the men now running amok in America, is the disrespect for the rule of law. That more than all else, as Augustine reminds us, ends with tyranny. This administration has made it known that it will not follow a court order – and perhaps ignore even the Supreme Court – on the theory that the President decides the limitations of his office without interference. A Republic cannot survive under that regime.

From the earliest days of the Constitution, it has been the respected position of all participants in each branch of government, that it is the court and the judicial system that are the interpreters of the Constitution and the final arbiter of the limitations of power of the various branches in the federalist system. By and large that bedrock principle has been respected. Trump firmly disagrees. His view is that he alone decides the power that he, and those around him, can exercise. This will not end well, or soon… It will affect all of us.

    Well said, Duane.

Funny how CC leaders and pastors were always haranguing us about authority, and now they are cozying up to a US administration with a blatant disregard for authority that almost transcends into the surreal.

    You have misused spiritual authority
    You are beating the sheep
    God’s precious flock
    You have misused spiritual authority
And your tail has been docked
Yes your tail has been docked
    “You can wag it,
    but it ain’t all there!”
…..Yes your tail has been docked
    And now you’re a laughingstock!
