Awwww … Thank you so much everyone!!!! My mom had a wonderful day surrounded by family … all tucked in her own bed. Amazingly her trip home didn’t seem to take too much out of her … she was so excited to be going home I don’t think she cared at all about how bumpy the trip was … she was beaming when she arrived. Oh … and Ella was so glad to see her … same with the kitties. She & mom were blowing kisses at each other all day. What a blessing!

Right now my mom is sleeping … listening to Pride & Prejudice … just like she has so many many times before. Please continue to pray she stays so comfortable & calm. I so don’t want to see her suffer. Thanks so much for all your support … it means so much to me. You all have no idea how much. No words …

My mom had another peaceful night sleep & is resting comfortably now as well. She’s waiting news about the birth of her 7th great grandchild. My brother spent the night with mom & during the night he got word that his son & daughter-in-law were at the hospital … a couple weeks early but gr grandbaby # 7 baby is on the way!!! 🙂 Prayers appreciated!

  23. Em says:

Nancy, your #22 what a nice praise to wake up to here – a new baby! and a contented night at your house, too? praying and thanking the Lord for good news “from afar off” 🙂

  24. nancy says:

My mom slept pretty well … a little more restless than the past few nights but still she slept. It is however getting increasingly more difficult to keep her comfortable. It seems to be building … please pray she passes without going through much pain or more discomfort.
I keep trying to think of anything that needs to happen before she leaves this life … can’t think of anything. Everyone has had a chance to visit & she even has a new great grandchild that arrived early just for her. 🙂 My prayer at this point is our Lord will take her quickly & peacefully. No more pain … no fear …

  25. Em says:

Nancy, praying with you … He’s right there

  26. Sarah says:

Praying now, Nancy. Continuing to pray for God’s presence to be strong in the midst of this time. Father, I do ask as well that You would be gracious and this would be a time of a sweet transition for Nancy’s mother. Calm all fears and bring peace. Thank You for the unexpected gifts of visitors, including the little baby. May there be no pain, Father, and we trust your timing to be perfect.

May this be a time all of them recognize Your hand in their midst….be gracious, and merciful, here Father.

  27. nancy says:

Thanks Sarah & everyone for you faithful prayers. Mom has settled & is sleeping very peacefully now. It’s very hard to see her uncomfortable at all … much better when she is calm & peaceful. Music is playing softly … my oldest brother is sitting at her side now & my other brother will be here later. Time to get a few things done. Thanks again for all the prayer …

  28. nancy says:

Thanks Em … yes … I know … I couldn’t do this without God right with me.

  29. nancy says:

My mom is growing increasingly clingy to us … wants at least one of us holding her hand. I talked with her today to make sure she wasn’t afraid & she is at peace … she knows she is in God’s hands. She knows she will either be here with us … or be in heaven with many other loved ones. I assured her we wouldn’t let her experience much pain between here & there. Please keep praying for traveling mercies … no bumps …

  30. Sarah says:

Praying again for traveling mercies with you, Nancy.

Father, gather this dear, beloved one in Your embrace. May Your presence be so clearly in their midst that the travel from here to there will be without awareness of absence for Nancy’s mom…may she simply know You more completely in the blink of an eye. Father, in the moments when there is fear, whisper her name that she can hear You and know she is Yours.

Fill their home, and specifically her room, with the sweet peace of knowing that You are the I Am. That Your Promises are sure and true and that You will be faithful here as You have proved to be in the past. Ease the sorrow with joy, but Father gather this family in the shadow of Your wings that they can experience this time with grace and in the way that they need right now.

Father, give them the strength they need to be present in these last moments and the shelter and grace to mourn when the time is right.

Again…fill their home with laughter in the midst of sorrow. May Nancy’s mom be carried away on the sounds of her family surrounding her, delighting in her and celebrating her. May she be lifted up in the love that surrounds her.

Father…be gracious and merciful in this home tonight.

  38. nancy says:

It’s getting increasingly more difficult to keep my mom comfortable … I feel like I’m running a marathon … or some kind of really long obstacle course during a storm. Thankfully I’ve had 2 nights sleep thanks to family help & my nose finally clearing but for some reason I feel even more tired.

I talked to my mom again about not being afraid … and not hanging on if she was tired of struggling. I keep thinking there must be some reason she is hanging on … something she’s worried about … whatever. I keep reminding her that everyone in the family is well … stuff like that. There is one very old friend who she hasn’t talked to … maybe that’s it. Her friend is just too sad to come visit her at this point. I assured her that was a good decision & to remember the happy times … but she’s still struggling with her decision. I’m going to try to work out a time they can talk on the phone … maybe that will help both of them. At this point I just don’t know what to do but I’m trying everything I can think of that doesn’t upset or hurt my mom. Anyway … I’m really struggling here & your prayers are so appreciated. Thank you all for your support during this time.

  39. Linnea says:

Oh Nancy. I pray that the Lord give you endurance as He gave it to Elijah when he saw the small cloud on the horizon. You are precious to care for your mother with such tenderness and mercy, even in the face of your exhaustion.

Lord, please give Your peace to Nancy’s Mom and clear direction to Nancy. Lift Nancy up and reenergize her in every way. Send Your saints to surround Nancy and her Mom today. Help them to feel Your presence and love.
