Prayer & Praise
There is a long list of threats around us: terror, cancer, falling markets, killing, others unlike us in all their variety, loneliness, shame, death-the the list goes on and we know it well.
And in the midst of threat of every kind, you appear among us in your full power, in your deep fidelity, in your amazing compassion. You speak among us the one word that could matter: “Do not fear.”
And we, in our several fearfulnesses, are jarred by your utterance.
On a good day, we know that your sovereign word is true.
So give us good days by your rule, free enough to rejoice, open enough to change, trusting enough to move out of new obedience, grace enough to he forgiven and then to forgive.
We live by your word. Speak it to us through the night, that we may have many good days through your gift.

Save us oh Lord from ourselves. Save us from the evil that lurkes about looking for its next victim. Save us from the world we have created for ourselves. A world devided , a world full of hate and disparity. Have mercy on us Father, have mercy.

And Dusty, you are such a faithful prayer warrior. Thank you so much for prayers for my sister. She’s made it through 6 weeks of daily radiation and oral chemo, but the next step is a port and 6 months of weekly chemo. She’s tired, angry, and afraid of what’s to come. She’s a teacher and her school administrators seem to be trying to push her out, which would mean losing her pension and her insurance coverage. She’s trying to stay strong, but it’s hard on her and her family.

We all join together in prayer for the miracle of healing for Linnea’s sister.
May this weak vulnerable cancer be gone at the name of Jesus.
For we know and we proclaim that by His stripes we were healed.
May the medical profession methods be blessed of the Lord beyond the ordinary to bring her into divine kingdom health for the rest of her days upon this earth.
May the peace of Jesus, the Prince of peace, be her portion.
For He gives us a peace that the world cannot give us, nor can the world take it away from us, an enduring peace not of this world.
May the troubled storm of Linnea’s sister’s soul be calmed now in the name of Jesus.

We’ve learned there’s significant blockage in mom’s lower legs as a result of P.A.D. Tests will be needed for possible arterial blockage leading to her brain. It appears she has vascular dementia. Her memory is failing a bit more and her weight has dropped to 93 pounds. She can’t write and needs help walking and she’s very depressed.
My wife’s R.A. is bad and she may stop working beginning January. There’s a lot going on but most important is we need her red blood platelet count to increase

ERunner…praying for your Mother, your sweet wife, and your family. Lord, please give doctors wisdom in treating E’s mother and give his wife healing and relief from the pain. Be with them in the decisions that lie ahead. Amen.
Often I post here without reading the posts above. As a result I missed Linnea’s request. My wife worked with a woman who was very ill and the school district showed no compassion. I’m not sure how it ended. It’s terrible that while being so sick that this emotional component has been dropped on her as well. I pray God would fill her with peace, bring her through this cancer, and cause a positive outcome for her job.
Thank each of you for your prayers. It means a lot.
I’ll be out this morning getting an MRI and a cardio ultrasound…tad stressed.

A few things in my life that could use a little prayer…
Wild fires in NC. South Mountain is about 10 miles from my house and it is very smoky. They are telling us not to go outside.
Two young men, 19 and 27, from my church were killed in a car accident last night.
I think someone has stolen my bank information.
