    remember in prayer

London- my mom who is two years out from surgery for pancreatic cancer and a week and a half out from back surgery for three fractures in her spine.
Caretaking is hard work at times and it seems that I lose track of time pretty easily

the new Victor – pray for God’s protection and mercy upon my children, who’ve been through a lot, including witnessing domestic violence in the other home, and that I am strong and engaged enough to lead them so they don’t turn out like the sons of Eli. Yes, I always go worst case. I thank and praise God for that which I have been given to steward, especially my lambs.

Bob Sweat -I don’t post here much anymore; however, I read this blog every day. I’m thankful for the many friends that I have come to know these past 11 years. Most of you I have never met face to face.
Those who know me are aware of the struggle that I have had over the years regarding returning to pastoral ministry. Just last winter, I asked for prayer because I was being considered by a church in Washington. Shortly after requesting prayer, I removed my name from consideration because my wife and I were not ready to leave family. I asked God then to remove the desire to pastor again and help me be content with teaching at a Christian school, but desire is stronger than ever.
In recent weeks, my wife and I, after much prayer, have agreed that I should spend whatever time I have left doing what God called me to do. We are both on Social Security, and we are asking God to open a door to a small church somewhere in the US who want a pastor to love them and faithfully teach the Word. I have recently applied to churches in Idaho and Montana. My pessimism causes me to believe there are not many places that want a pastor in his senior years, but God knows.

Duane – Saturday night my old best friend, Jim, died of a heart attack at the age of 62 – leaving a wife and three children. I’m heartbroken. Please pray for his family.
My wife’s best friend, Norma, is in Santa Rosa. Her house is burning as I write. Please pray for her.

prodinov – I request prayer, still processing Ephesians 6. Young daughter got baptized recently. Little prayer warrior she is…my other little one, 5 is still is the making. However, this week, Monday after he peacefully went to bed, he was screaming upstairs, he was in a zombie state, curled up in a ball, still in a catatonic state, saying something was attacking him. He did not even acknowledge our initial prayers nor presence. Thinking nightmare, he slept with me for 3 nights. Last night, again in his bed, sound asleep, the attacks came and the wee one was unresponsive until I grabbed him, took him downstairs where he slept peacefully. I am still processing these dark attacks since they are unlike anything I have experienced. Prayers guys…it is unfair for a 5 yr old to be attacked….

One of my students was evidently struck by a car at her bus stop this morning and died. Our school is shocked and grieving deeply. Prayers for her family–she was an only child and was thirteen years old.

  6. Michael says:

I’ve been sick about this all morning and wondering if she was one of your students.
Praying for all involved and for you as you help your students (and yourself) through this.

  9. Bob Sweat says:

    Dusty and Michael,

Thank you for posting my prayer request these past weeks. I have sent my resume to 7 different churches the past month, and there has been no interest shown. Maybe this isn’t what God wants, and I should be content with my present situation.

I want to thank my family here at PP for their prayers and encouragement, I’m okay, God knows what is best.

giving credit where it’s due 🙂
i just had an answer to prayer… my car was hit and had to go into the shop in town, work done by tonight, not open on weekends and nobody to get me in to pick it up today – big storm headed into our area this weekend …
i was outside sweeping the carport and praying for a miracle and the phone rang – some nice fella saying that he was on his way out here to pick me up to get the car this afternoon and that constitutes a 2 hour drive for him
don’t know if somebody else’s small miracle is encouraging, but i’m thanking God – always amazed when something like this happens and i apologize to our Lord for that attitude
