Prayer & Praise
The Collect
O Lord, we pray that your grace may always precede and follow after us, that we may continually be given to good works; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.  Amen.
Jeremiah 15:15-21
O Lord, you know; remember me and visit me, and take vengeance for me on my persecutors. In your forbearance take me not away; know that for your sake I bear reproach. Your words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart, for I am called by your name, O Lord, God of hosts. I did not sit in the company of revelers, nor did I rejoice; I sat alone, because your hand was upon me, for you had filled me with indignation. Why is my pain unceasing, my wound incurable, refusing to be healed? Will you be to me like a deceitful brook, like waters that fail?
Therefore thus says the Lord: “If you return, I will restore you, and you shall stand before me. If you utter what is precious, and not what is worthless, you shall be as my mouth. They shall turn to you, but you shall not turn to them. And I will make you to this people a fortified wall of bronze; they will fight against you, but they shall not prevail over you, for I am with you to save you and deliver you, declares the Lord. I will deliver you out of the hand of the wicked, and redeem you from the grasp of the ruthless.”
Psalm 26
Be my judge, O Lord, for I have walked innocently; * my trust has been in the Lord; therefore I shall not fall.
Test me, O Lord, and prove me; * examine my heart and my mind.
For your loving-kindness is ever before my eyes, * and I will walk in your truth.
I have not dwelt with evildoers, * neither will I have fellowship with the deceitful.
I have hated the company of the wicked, * and will not sit among the ungodly.
I will wash my hands in innocence, O Lord, * and so will I go to your altar,
That I may lift up the voice of thanksgiving * and tell of all your wondrous works.
Lord, I have loved the habitation of your house * and the place where your honor dwells.
O take not away my soul with the sinners, * nor my life with the bloodthirsty,
Whose hands are full of wickedness, * and their right hand full of bribes.
But as for me, I will walk innocently; * O deliver me, and be merciful unto me.
My foot stands firm; * I will praise the Lord in the congregations.
+Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit;
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be; world without end. Amen
Romans 12
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.
Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Matthew 16:21-27
From that time Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised. And Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him, saying, “Far be it from you, Lord! This shall never happen to you.” But he turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a hindrance to me. For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.”
Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done.

Hi CK…praying for the digestive issues…and for a way to pay for treatment.
Father hear our cry. Lift us up by Your mighty hand and be our strong tower in this storm. Deliver us from our heartache, burden, and sin. Send Your Spirit to comfort, guide, and convict us. Jesus, help us to appreciate Your sacrifice, Your strength, Your love. Only You know what we need and can save us. Only You sacrifice and love us. Release us from the grip of the enemy. Tear down our walls that keep us from kneeling at Your Holy feet. We all are at the end of the rope that only You can help with. Hold us Father and don’t let us fall. Heal us of our sickness, our greed, our turmoil. Anoint us with oil and cleanse us.
Lord, so many here are in so much pain. Please heal them, mind, body, and soul. Please hear the cries of Your children. Hear us oh Lord. Have mercy on us..
Amen, dusty dear soul, AMEN
Thank you Em, Dusty and Linnea.
