Prayer & Praise
“Things fall apart, the center cannot hold.”
We are no strangers to the falling apart;
We perpetrate against the center of our lives, and on some days it feels like an endless falling,
like a deep threat,
like rising water,
like ruthless wind.
But you … you in the midst,
you back in play,
you rebuking and silencing and ordering,
you creating restfulness in the very eye of the storm.
You … be our center:
cause us not to lie about the danger,
cause us not to resist your good order.
Be our God.
Be the God you promised, and we will be among those surely peaceable in your order.
We pray in the name of the one through whom all things hold together.
Amen.

Yes Lord, You be the calm in our storm.
Lium-14 underwent faciill reconstructive surgery …still in a coma with several broken bones
We had a really rough day yesterday. My husband is in a lot of pain.
Also, we could potentially be facing a $6,000 bill from our city in the next year or two. Apparently, our city does not pay for maintenance of the sewer and road infrastructure with property taxes, but instead levies special assessments against individual property owners to cover the work done alongside their property. I know that being hit with a bill that is literally 25% of our yearly income will be hard on us as it will be for many other people on our street–people who are on fixed incomes or laid off or in otherwise unstable financial situations. There’s a movement to end special assessments in our city but it won’t work unless we get enough people to contact city officials and attend a couple key meetings in person. My prayer is that the city alderpersons are overwhelmed with emails from people opposed to special assessments and that the two key meeting that are coming up in the next couple weeks will be packed to overflowing.
Dusty…continuing to pray for him. Cannot imagine how tough that is at any age, but especially at 14.
j2…That sounds crazy that it doesn’t come out of property taxes. Praying for you, that people will respond and be motivated to voice their opinions. Praying for a restful day for you and your husband today, and for an easing in his pain today.
Dear Jesus,
We pray over these needs today and bring them up to You in these prayers.
Asking that You would be who You are as Healer and Provider.
Amen
Jehovah Jireh (The Lord who provides)
The name Jehovah-Jireh is a name that is crucial for us today as we seek to know the Father. It is a name that assures us that our Heavenly Father is able to provide any need we have. Trust Him for that!
Jehovah Rapha (The Lord who heals)
The name Jehovah-Rapha is a name that speaks to us and our need today. We live in a stressful world and society. Every day new problems confront us and we bend under the load of seemingly unsolvable problems. But we can take comfort in knowing that Almighty God can heal anything.
Trey and I are in great need of prayer.
Father, we know You hear the cries of your children. We pray you meet each need here. Amen
Praying for Michael and Trey.
Praying for Lium.
Praying for J2 also
Jehovah Jireh, our Heavenly Father, please hear our petitions as we bow our hearts at the foot of your altar. Send your ministering angels to put balm upon our wounds and to protect us from that which is of the enemy. Keep us from falling and lift us up to see the goodness and mercy of who You are in all these things that troubles and beset us. Grant healing where it is needed and lead us to know what is and what is not of You. Jehovah Rapha, you are the great physician. Grant Trey what is needed to heal him and Michael the patience, wisdom, and discernment in knowing what to do and what not to do in the midst of watching his son go through this. Help everyone to endure what it is that we must endure until You release us from these things that has caused us to suffer so and help us to learn what it is that you would have us to learned having done so. Father, mercy on behalf of everyone who are suffering and or in pain. Please dearest beloved Abba, pour your grace upon all to meet their needs for today and cause your favor to be found in one another and in others to help where and when they can. For those who need employment, Lord open the doors wide and prepare a place, a position that is meet for he or she that needs such. Thank you, Adonai for all that You are and Your love towards us through your precious, obedient Son, Jesus, our Lord and our Savior—Amen.
Be with me, God. I feel so lost. I can’t seem to escape the dark cloud
that is hanging over me today. Help me, God. Give me strength
to combat despair and fear. Show me how to put my pain
into perspective. Teach me to have faith in the new day
that is coming. Thank you, God, for today’s blessings,
for tomorrow’s hope, and for Your abiding love.
Amen.
Teach me always to believe in my power to return to life, to hope, and to You, God,
no matter what pains I have endured, no matter how far I have strayed from You.
Give me the strength to resurrect my weary spirit.
Revive me, God, so I can embrace life once more
in joy, in passion, in peace.
Amen.
When I feel tainted, God, remind me that I am holy.
When I feel weak, teach me that I am strong.
When I am shattered, assure me that I can heal.
When I am weary, renew my spirit.
When I am lost, show me that you are near.
Amen.
May God heal you, body and soul.
May your pain cease,
May your strength increase,
May your fears be released,
May blessings, love and joy surround you.
Amen.

praying for a God job to come your way big brother…..quickly
The turn out for our meeting was pretty good. The room was at least half full, which I would consider to be a good showing for a city council meeting. But, I really want the meeting next Wednesday to be completely packed. I felt the mayor was pretty patronizing, though, and he clearly doesn’t want anything about the policy to change. My impression is that he wants to shut down debate as much as he possibly can.
That’s great you don’t need surgery, Dusty. I hope you heal quickly!
