Please pray for my mother Joanne. Monday morning (April 19) she is have a double mastectomy. Not sure of what other treatment may have to come afterwards. Praying Nonnie

This has been a very odd and hard week. My mom’s been in hospital since last Sunday night/Monday morning. First with pancreatitis, then they thought she had a heart attack and was going to die (very much not fun!)..then transfer to another hospital where they found out she had a rare thing called Takotsubo and it wasn’t a heart attack. To now re-doing all meds and starting from scratch (yay!)
It’s been one of the hardest weeks emotionally and mentally for me in a very long time.
    Still kinda stunned and unsure.
My mom is an active member of her church and has been for years. The only time anyone from her church has come by, was the first couple days when they were also visiting someone else in the same hospital. The exception has been a young gal that’s a good friend of my mom’s. She rode down with me yesterday and hung out a while.
Of course, a couple of the staff have sent me emails or Facebooked me saying “we’re going to come visit…so glad she’s better” and they don’t show up! I really want to tell them they are full of crap…but won’t. I’d rather they never say anything than say tney are coming by and not show up!
Dread’s been by a couple times which has been a big help. Just to break up the montony of sitting around for hours if nothing else. But it’s always good for a laugh hanging out with them…
I’ve been in hospitals with family members more than anyone else I know…it used to not be that big a deal when I was younger…but it’s starting to get hard and I’m wiped out.

Wasn’t intending to whinge…just needed a place to say all that

  8. jlo says:

London, sorry for the week you’ve had. You and winge any time you want. 🙂

  9. Dusty says:

praying for you and your mom London. I know you don’t care for mushiness but I think with the week you have had I will offer anyway… ((hugs))

  10. Dusty says:

continuing to keep you in prayer Linnea. Be encouraged for your Lord is with you, will never leave you helpless nor alone. You are His precious little girl. May you feel His warm embrace. May you feel His gentle kiss upon your forehead.

  11. Dusty says:

Father God, Your girls need You. Some days this world is just too scary, too big, and too mean… it is too much to take at times. But then You…You are our strength when we are weak…and we are this day…and we need You…we need to bury our face in Your shoulder and cry.

Your Word says You are our Rock, be that Rock for Nonnie, Linnea, Nancy, London and Sarah. oh Father, could You throw Your loving arms about them and shield them from the trials that are overwhelming them? Could You sooth them with sweet music… please Father be moved by Your compassion for them and still the raging sea.

  12. Erunner says:

Nonnie and london, I am sorry to read about your mothers. It’s never easy during these times and I pray God would touch each of your moms in a special way. I hope you are able to fly out Nonnie as this volcano seems to be creating tons of problems. I hope the doctors can come up with a workable course of action for your mom london. God bless you both.

Jeff is still in a coma and my sister is holding out hope that God will do a miracle. They are weaning him off of a ventilator which appears to be a very positive step. Please keep him, my sister, and their three kids in your prayers.

  13. Believe says:

London, sorry you’re going through all of that right now. Praying for you. That’s cool of Dread…not so cool of the others. People can suck, but not all of them.

Nonnie, praying for you and your mom as well…and E for Jeff and your Sis.

  14. Nonnie says:

Aw London. So sorry to hear about your mum. Praying for her and for you.

Praying for Jeff and family as well.

Thank you all for praying for my mum. She goes into surgery in just a few hours.

  15. nancy says:

Praying for your mom & you …

Praying for your mom as well. Also praying for you … wow … what a week you have had.

Still praying for Jeff & your sister.

  16. nancy says:

Please continue to pray for my mom. She is still in the hospital & really wants to come home. She’s trying so hard to get better but her heart is starting to act up just to make things even more of a struggle. The coughing is relentless & I’m sure it’s exhausting for her. I’m still coughing a good bit of the night … my stomach muscles are even sore … so it’s no shocker that her cough is holding on … but it’s so hard on her. Please keep her in prayer. Thanks bunches!

  17. Em says:

reading with prayer going up to that wonderful Father that Dusty describes back up there a ways… He is and, He does love – just what she described – what a wonderful Lord and Friend, too

(hope Nancy gets help for her own cough 🙂 )

  18. Sarah says:

Nancy…praying still, as well as for London’s mom and Erunner’s sister and brother-in-law.

I’m preparing for our middle boy Nate’s baptism tonight (our pastor graciously is allowing Steve to baptize him, which is great since he got to baptize Zachary). We’re immersed in a week of SAT testing at school, with Steve and Zach of to Predators Stanley cup play-off game tomorrow night, and a baseball game Friday night. Then Sammy’s 4th birthday, followed almost immediately by a trip to Albuquerque (with Sammy in tow!). Returning in time for mother’s day, Zach’s birthday and sending Steve off for 2 weeks of training in Germany.

All of that to say…I will be scarce. Praying for all, but will see you in a couple months.

  19. Rob Murphy says:

Hi – would you pray for my shoulder? I apparently tore the rotator cuff and it really hurts and has made a mess of me for over a week. I have to go for another doc app’t and look at an mri to figure out how to fix it. We’re overwhelmed at the cost and it hurts crazy bad. We could use a couple miracles . . . Thanks, R

  20. Michael says:

Wow…nothing hurts worse, I’ve been told.

  21. Rob Murphy says:

I’ve broken my collarbone and this is worse. I’m unpleasantly surprised. I thought I was a tough guy, but nope. Thx for prayers, really needful.

  22. sister christian says:

Praying for Nancy, Nonnie, and Londons Moms…
    Praying for Linnea and family

Prayers for Rob Murphy, may God kindly bless you with those couple of miracles in healing of shoulder and other concerns ensuing.

    for Psalm 62

    Praying for Oden and Family
Dmw, Dave Rolph, Steve Hopkins and family.
Praying for each of the pastors for protection, blessings and joy in ministry this week

  23. Em says:

Our beloved God and Father, our Redeemer and Comfort, keep all close this night – strengthen and heal – invade our hearts and minds with Your truth and promises – may God the Holy Spirit move among us this nite, Lord, with redemption, restoration, comfort, healing and quiet us to rest in You. Thank You, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Praise Your Name…

  24. Em says:

God keep all close and comforted this nite – keep us confident of Your presence, Lord and praying when we’re awake in the night watches

  25. Em says:

praying for all who are mentioned here and all those who come to mind this morning – Lord, draw us all closer and increase Christ in us, bless wedding plans, seal and sanctify our children for Your kingdom, give that wonderful peace that does pass understanding to those who are physically assaulted by our enemy – and Yours, Lord. Protect us from distractions that serve no purpose in Your plan for our lives, but grant rest and restoration (and, Lord, remind me to stick to business and stay off this web-site today).
For this day’s supply from Your hand, thank You so very much, beloved Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Thank You, it is enough for this day.

  26. Em says:

“He [gave] more grace as [my] burdens [grew] greater,
    He [sent] more strength [when my] labors increase[d];
To added afflictions He addeth His mercy,
To multiplied trials he multiplies peace.

When [i] have exhausted [my] store of endurance,
When [my] strength [had] failed ere the day [was] half done,
When [i] reached the end of [my] hoarded resources
Our Father’s full giving is only begun.

His love has no limits, His grace has no measure,
    His power no boundary known unto men;
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus
He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again”

this hymn was playing as i work here and i found myself able to sing along to our Lord with tears of gratitude – praying that any who stop by here will find it true as your own journeys wind down – won’t always feel like it as you go, most likely, but … mebbe
