I just returned last week from my third trip to Ukraine since the war began, and the second working with who we affectionately call “Father Brown”. There is a tremendous door of opportunity IMO similar to Russia in the early 90’s. People are scared and beaten down. Young men live in fear of being conscripted. We drove from Hungary to about 5 miles from the Russian border visiting churches and encouraging them with song, prayer, and financial assistance. The air raid sirens are near constant reminders of the evil that comes from the sky indiscriminately. The church were mostly overwhelmed that we would come, and very appreciative of the support.
Joel Brown’s church is a good way to be involved financially. He’s a good guy. Crazy, but in the best of ways. Our church has been super generous and beyond the giving to various ministries has also been supporting a young family in Kiev for the entirety of the war.

Joel is truly doing ministry. Period. I have never seen his equal.

God bless you and your church in your giving…we finally found something we can agree on. 🙂

He has amazed me…he’s living the Christian life in front of us in ways most never see…

In a world that desperately needs real-life heroes, Joel Brown is certainly in that category.

Honestly, Joel needs encouragement. It’s been a long couple years. Funds have dried up as the war has become a political football here in America and most feel that the funding is too much. I took flack from a few for “supporting Ukraine” which was really heartbreaking. People can be really stupid. Encouragement in the form of finances and personal visits seem to help. But very few want to go to a place like Ukraine.

This sends me over the edge…why wouldn’t Christians support a man doing the work that Jesus told us to do?
I kind of got the impression that his fund raising trip over here didn’t go well.

It was reading some of the nonsense against supporting Ukraine that prompted me to make this post…if I can do more I will.
