Praying for each of these names that have been listed, and for you, Michael.

Praying as well for all of those that come to each of our minds who are not listed…those we know in our “real” life.

Praying truly for God to intercede on behalf of His children…for peace to become prevalent in the midst of their lives. For the peace that truly transcends understanding…the peace that comes when all else seems wrong. praying for that peace to be rich and deep and thick and present.

Praying for wisdom in the decisions so many are facing. For an ability to think clearly even in the midst of such emotions that make any thinking difficult. Praying for the Spirit to clear the minds as each faces needs that strain not only emotions, but thoughts.

Praying for strength and encouragement of heart for those who wake feeling no hope and no encouragement. Praying that God will bring people around who will bring strength and will bring help. Praying for the Spirit to breathe life into places and hearts and minds that feel dull and dead.

Praying for presence of God. For God to show up, and as Brueggermann says, for God to come off the pages. Praying that the words of Truth that we know…the scripture that we have memorized and have read and have meditated on, would be proved true in these seasons.

That God would prove Himself Faithful.
That God would prove Himself True.
That God would prove Himself to be the Provider.
    That God would heal.
    That God would protect.
    That God would…

That God would be. And that everything would change because of that reality. Not that everything would be happy and sunny…but that the fact that God is…that the One Who holds Orion’s belt in place also hears our prayers….that that fact would change the reality of our days.

Just catching up here. Yes, joining you all in prayer for the above requests
I’ve been following our dear brother DMW on FB and my heart is aching for him and praying for him.
Would you add my little 6 week old grandson, Bennet, to your prayers please. He just had his 3rd operation. They have fitted him with a feeding tube in his stomach and hoping this will help him to get needed nutrients and gain strength. We are flying out there next week….I don’t know what to expect…just going and praying I can be an encouragement and comfort to my children. Love to you all.

  7. Thank you, Michael! If anyone thinks to pray for me today, please divert to praying for Pastor John Duncan. He is so much on my heart and I feel helpless to do anything. I’ve never personally met him, but I feel like I know him, as with many of you. Please lift him up. This is dire, serious, urgent.

i was a living, breathing child of God for some decades before i grasped the fact that it is a duty to pray, years until i dropped the delusion that only big shot, mountain moving, faith-filled Believers’ time is not wasted in praying … the time that is wasted is just about any 24 hour period that we have not done so – a cry for help is good, but it’s not prayer … thinking, “oh, God, i can’t get up and face another day! is not prayer” – Jesus on His knees before His arrest was praying, His words while hanging on the cross were not prayers, tho some think an exclamatory cry to God is enough to label prayer, i don’t – we need to do both (i may be wrong, but i’m not convinced that we have to be on our knees to be effective)
and so, i will pray today; as folks here come to mind, i’ll clear my head and remind myself that God is and, if i can’t sleep tonight, i’ll be up looking at the northern sky; i’ll move closer to His presence out there in the blackness of what i can’t understand and we’ll talk: i’ll plead and confess and He’ll ease my troubled mind and i’ll know His heart – and, perhaps, He and i will agree and move the gates of hell a bit
i confess i’m not sure just where heaven is, but His throne is there and by Jesus Christ, that’s where our prayers are gathered … in Christ, those prayers don’t just melt like smoke and settle back to earth

This probably gets mod’d (which I understand). If it makes it through, just wanted to say hi. I still lurk once in awhile and I still have a fondness for many of you and pray when I see the requests like on this thread. It was wise to break the cycle of the bad dynamic that grew over here (of which I accept my part of the responsibility). Glad to see the blog up and going. Hoping the best for all of you.

Count on prayers from here as well. JLO should be included in our prayers too.

  11. jlo says:

It’s prayer that is sustaining me these days, knowing that others are praying for me and that I am privileged to be able to pray for others. In times past I would not have asked for prayer but just toughed it out, not wanting to expose my needs, which was wrong. I was denying others and myself the strengthening of faith through prayer.

Praying, on my knees broken but not destroyed, for my needs and the needs of others.

  12. Chile says:

Your situation touched a chord with me, jlo. I’ve prayed for you.

Michael, I can empathize with your situation and will pray, knowingly.

  13. Nonnie says:

    Love you, Jlo!!

  14. Lutheran says:

    Prayer is important!

Recently a young woman in her early 20s that my family knows died from stomach cancer. I was blessed to talk with her about a week before she died. She told me that the prayers that people were praying sustained her during what had to be a very difficult ordeal.

  15. BrianD says:

Thinking of you all, including Michael, DMW, and everyone else.

  16. Lord, show Yourself to this gathering of believers in You – give respite and mercies – provide, heal and protect us all – even as we know so many are in confusion and real agony beyond our comprehension, we too need Your care – order our lives to the honor and praise of Your Name and Lord, Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth now in us – keep our minds stayed on You – keep us in Your peace

  17. Amen to Em’s parting shot!

  18. sarahkwolfe says:

    Yes, Amen to Em!

Off to bed tonight, taking this prayer requests with me. I’ve been overwhelmed with awareness of several sick children in our area…many are dying of cancer. I cannot fathom the strain of that as a parent…much, much to pray for in this broken world.

  19. Paige says:

Joining you in prayers for these saints, for the mercy and glory of God……

  20. Nonnie says:

    Praying for the children today.
