The Devil Is Real
Humans have made staggering advances in being able to meet their needs and objectives technologically.
We can do things unimaginable just a hundred years ago.
We can do other unimaginable things as well.
We have not advanced morally or ethically to the degree we have technologically.
How odd that we have not advanced morally beyond the desire to kill a child in cold blood for a cause…then kill another and another.
There are videos of Hamas terrorists grinning in satisfaction over killing elderly women and children.
Grinning…celebrating that he destroyed human lives.
This of course, makes me want to kill him…slowly.
Murder is in our DNA.
We were made in the image of God, but that image creates offense in us and we crave the darkness.
Any consideration of human intercourse must deal with this fact first…any system that doesn’t recognize the fall of man is part of the fall and will eventually descend into evil.
Biblical anthropology is true.
The devil is real.
We delight in his offerings until he comes to collect for his services.
This war in Israel and the war in Ukraine and the wars that are endless everywhere are Satan’s handiwork.
Failure to understand and believe that fact will always lead to partial victory at best.
The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but they are seldom used and may be past their expiration date as a result.
We should always fire from our knees…no one but the enemy will know… thus, we prefer standing and speaking so he can get a clear shot at us while we seek carnal recognition.
We live in a time of intense demonic activity, encouraged by our lack of desire to actually engage the real enemy.
We demand access to the weapons we can physically kill with while refusing to use the ones God has given us to fight the spirit of murder.
So we kill…and are killed.
If we truly want to fight the darkness we have to choose the proper weapons.
We won’t, but I had to write it anyway…
Wow, Michael, this is not only well-said, but very convicting. I’ve only spent minimal time fighting from my knees.
CK,
Most of us don’t…nor do we have any leadership that thinks it’s important…
This is AWESOME Michael, thank you.
Convicting to…
Gotta share with our flock.
Thanks again! Blessings to you and yours!
Mike Q,
Thank you, my friend…share away…teach them how to fight.
“how ttto fight?” AMEN! ! !
I saw Daniel Webster defend Jabez Stone from the Devil in court.
I have grown from reading a few teachers who don’t believe the devil is an “ontological being”. Their favorite phrase is “more than a metaphor, less than a person”. But I disagree with them. When I hear of horrors that seem beyond human imagination, I can’t help but believe something is behind it more evil than just a collective human unconscious phenomenon. They describe it almost like the atmospheric dynamics that cause a tornado or hurricane.
While the Old Testament references are few, and the New Testament ones confusing, there is something/someone very real behind evil.
Why is it so many can’t fathom the idea humans are the perpetrators of evil against each other? Is it so difficult to look in the mirror and admit we are guilty.
Is there a Satan? In the sense of being both tempted and accused of following and satisfying our inner animal instincts, yes there is a Satan/Devil.
The battle is within each of us, just as it was in the Garden, We see, we feel and we want, all while ignoring God. And then along comes the accuser…
I am guilty. Good thing there is an Advocate!
“The battle is within each of us”
AMEN ! ! !
