Blaine Eldredge is a very solid recommendation, he is a gifted writer. His dad’s book, “The Utter Relief of Holiness” is one of my favorites, too. Blaine and his dad (and brother?) had an online ‘magazine’ called ‘And Sons’ that I really enjoyed for several years.

I’m all for the old prayer meeting making a comeback. Wow, did I treasure those back in the day. They were like therapy sessions.

Seems like the one thing we could all have general agreement over is the need to pray for our nation. Whatever your political (spell check corrected my initial error with the word “polecat”) biases and/or anxieties it seems we can agree that our nation is riddled with corruption, chaos and dangerous division. Bring back the prayer meeting indeed. All we need to do is pray “thy kingdom come” and we immediately filter out our inability to pray.

The kingdom and not the nation is our mandate. Whatever ’emperor’ we get saddled with the LORD can ride that lame horse.

I’ve noticed the absence of commenter Em for quite some time. Knowing she was elderly, I was wondering if anyone knew if she had passed away or if anyone might know how she is

    Interested Bystander,

I sent an email to her this afternoon…hope I hear back.

Guessing there’s been no reply from Em yet?

    Interested Bystander,

    Nothing yet…
