Our Gifted Friends…
I wrote this on Facebook the other day…
“I’m blessed to have friends here who are artists, craftsmen, writers, and musicians who are trying to make an honest living with their gifts. I’m not offended when they post their products…I’m proud of their work and pray that people see and buy their work. I share it as often as I see it because the work and the people matter…go and do likewise…with joy and a generous spirit…”
All of those folks have another thing in common…they hate self promoting but it’s the only way to get your work seen without a massive advertising budget.
We now have four books on the market ourselves and know how hard it is.
So…every now and then we’re going to feature our friends here.
This beautiful painting above is by Nancy Patterson … a long time friend of mine and the blog.
Last week we showed you the incredible portrait of my beloved Miss Kitty that John Shaffer painted for me.
The actual work is even better than the picture here.
John is available to draw your beloved pet as well…he can (obviously) draw people too.
You can also email him for quotes @ jbs1956@gmail.com
Thank you for your support…let these folks know you appreciate their work by sharing it with others and considering them when making a purchase…
This is great Michael. Both Nancy and John are such gifted artists. I love seeing their work on Facebook. …
Nancy is also a tireless servant, preserving historic lighthouses in New Jersey. She has also written and illustrated three lovely books about lighthouses that I have for reading to my grandchildren.
Paige,
They’re both very gifted…it’s a joy tone able to post their work…
I had to scroll back up to take a second look at Nancy’s painting. Upon first glance, I thought it was a photograph. The Captain is impressed!
