Prayer & Praise
We regularly say: “We proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.”
In our primitiveness, we do not doubt your coming, soon, powerfully, decisively.
In our settledness, your coming is not too urgent or real, because we are venously entitled, privileged, protected, gated.
In our rationality, the “until” of your coming makes little sense to us, so we mumble and hope no one notices.
In these last days, In these latter days, In these final clays, In these very late days, We draw closer to your promised “until.”
We draw closer in fear, in hope, in gladness, in dread.
So we do proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes,
until he comes in peace against all our violence;
until he comes in generosity midst all our parsimony;
until he comes in food midst all our hunger;
until he comes in community midst all our alienation.
We are your faithful hopers,
distracted by despair,but hoping,
distracted by affluence, but hoping,
distracted by sophistication, but hoping.
Come soon, come Lord Jesus, come soon while we face afresh your death, until you come soon and again …again and soon.

Job interview Tuesday
Praying for you too, Michael. Go out there and wow them, but not too much. No Phoenix Preacher Super Guy tights or cape this time. OK?
If you must show your pride in PP, then keep it to a tie with a phoenix on it. Seriously praying for you.
Thank you my friend… I’ll give it a helluva shot. 🙂
Michael. Will be praying God’s grace renew you in confidence and encouragement and for God’s favor with the specific interviewers and decision makers.
Thank you for this Walter Brueggemann prayer. He has a wonderful prophetic voice in our dark dark time.( I would also highly reccommend his book, The Prophetic Imagination. )
I praise God for true prophetic voices, like those on the PP site, who stand nearly alone and say the things no one else has the courage to say. And I am thankful that we can lean into God’s provision for Michael’s needs today as a virtual family and trust our gracious God to supply amply and miraculously.
Michael…will be praying Tuesday!
Prayer Requests: April 7-12
CCFTL, Coy Family Pray for all involved in this situation. There is so much tied up in this, so many who are hurting, so many who are in need of prayer. Hard to summarize on this list…pray for mercy, for grace, for redemption, for courage and for Gospel. For Bob to walk in the Truth that he has taught and for Gospel to walked out before us.
Paigemom’s Daughter and Son-in-law Eric and Sarah S. “My son in law has been out of work for months. He is a sweet, faith filled, hard worker with many skills and education. He is also struggling with depression and severe self doubt. My daughter works part time. Both are ‘hanging in there’ by faith, but both are weary and wonder if they have been ‘cut off’ from God’s care. Eric and Sarah S.”
Derek Car trouble! Pray for a solution to his wife’s car issues, with the least amount of expense.
Gary He has been let go from one of his jobs, which provided the most finances, and has also found out he has to move. Please pray for a solid job opportunity and something to come quickly for housing. Also, just for some encouragement during this frustrating time.
Scott Praise for all that God has done and prayer during this time of transition.
Erunner’s Cousin John He contacted Erunner concerned about his salvation, and E talked with him. He also is in need of practical physical help. E thought he had a good conversation with him about his spiritual state, and talked with E’s brother-in-law, a pastor, about setting up a place for John to stay. John has not contacted E again, but a place is ready for him. Pray that John will follow up, and that the conversation they had will bear fruit.
Erunner’s Mom She is beginning to show more signs of her dementia. Continue to pray for Erunner and his family as they deal with her progression in this (her mother and aunt both died in advanced stages of dementia). Pray for wisdom and grace and mercy, and pray for his mother as she is at this terribly difficult stage of knowing that she is slipping into this loss of her mental abilities.
Erunner’s Wife Belinda She is having elbow replacement surgery, most likely in May.
Michael Needs a job and income. Now.
J2thePerson In the process of filing their disability application online and hoping to have it expedited…if it is not, there is a 5-6 month wait. They have a great case worker, so praying she is able to help them and have this done quickly.

Also, offering this video as a prayer request for Ukraine. Things have gotten violent in another region in the eastern part if the country this week.
This video was shot earlier but now translated into English. The first guy speaking in someone I know a bit from my trips over.
I like the way they explain what was (maybe still is) happening in the capital city of Kiev.
im not in a good place today. 🙁
Praying for you, Dusters…
thanks big brother….
Praying for Dusty, Michael’s interview and the list.
Also, update on the car. Since I let my wife use my car, hers has only acted up on me twice and not to actually quit running. I am thinking that I can live with the problems it presents right now.
Praying for you all.
Derek…glad the car is doing better, at least! Hope it hangs in there!!!
Dusty, praying for you this morning.
London…thanks for posting the video and keeping us connected!
Thank you, Sarah… thank you all for participating!
Michael…have been praying for your interview this afternoon. The boys were praying for you as well.
I have kinda of a minimal request. My dr has left the practice he was with and has moved to another practice. He opened up last week at the new practice, and I know he is swamped. I called last week to try to set up an appointment and never heard back. Called again yesterday and the poor scheduler sounded swamped…still haven’t heard back though. I am beginning to have some issues with headaches again and a new issue with blood pressure. For those who were around when Maddie was born I had a bit of a scare when she was born and had some heart issues. Slight concerns as my blood pressure is up and headaches which were a major issue and had at least become manageable have returned…right now, I’d just like to get in to see the dr. He’s great and I am hoping this doesn’t become an issue where I would need to change drs. Need things to get sorted though.
Praying for you, Sarah.
Thank you, Derek.
reading from the bottom up. praying for all/
Thanks, jlo! I appreciate it. Praying through the list as I head off for bed.
Updates, My cousin hasn’t called so I’m not sure what to think. His reputation with the family is not good. Please pray God touches Him.
Belinda’s surgery is set and right now insurance is saying it’s out patient surgery. She’s dealing with that while I’m hoping my physical therapists can work with her in recovery.
Praying for you Dusty.
My interview went well…now we just wait to hear if it went well enough.
Thank you all for praying for me and for all the others who post here.
Glad it went well, Michael….praying that you hear good news quickly.
Erunner…continuing to pray for John.
